HOUSTON, Jan. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CenterPoint Energy Resources Corp. (CERC), an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of CenterPoint Energy, Inc. (NYSE: CNP), today announced that it priced $250 million of 4.50 percent senior notes due 2021 and $300 million of 5.85 percent senior notes due 2041, in a placement with institutions under Rule 144A and to non-U.S. persons under Regulation S under the Securities Act of 1933. The transaction is expected to close on Jan. 11, 2011.

CERC intends to use the net proceeds from this offering to pay amounts due in connection with the retirement of all $550 million aggregate principal amount of its 7.75 percent senior notes due 2011 at their maturity on Feb. 15, 2011.
