Public Utility Commission of Texas Decision Related to Temporary Mobile Generation

As previously disclosed in CenterPoint Energy, Inc.’s (“CenterPoint Energy”) and CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC’s (“Houston Electric” and together with CenterPoint Energy, the “Companies”) respective Annual Report on Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2022 filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Houston Electric previously entered into two leases for mobile generation units as allowed by Texas legislation passed in 2021 (“TEEEF”). Further, as previously disclosed, the Companies expected the Public Utility Commission of Texas (the “PUCT”) to consider for decision Houston Electric’s Distribution Cost Recovery Factor (“DCRF”) application regarding the recovery of Houston Electric’s TEEEF costs on March 9, 2023. On March 9, 2023, the PUCT approved Houston Electric’s DCRF request, including the settlement addressing distribution capital and the request for approximately $200 million of Houston Electric’s investment in TEEEF. The PUCT decision may be appealed by intervenors. The PUCT is expected to issue a final order in the coming weeks. Houston Electric will seek recovery of its remaining TEEEF costs in a DCRF filing expected to be made in the first half of 2023.
